Do you have what it takes to make the Kessel Run in less than 12 parsecs? See if you can track down this unique patch set available exclusively at Celebration VI! Six members of the Washington DC Area Star Wars Collecting Club (DCSWCC) have joined forces to create the club’s first ever puzzle patch set, which when assembled represents the shape of the Millennium Falcon. The set is approved by Lucasfilm as an exclusive for Celebration VI and is strictly limited to 300 sets.
Each section is fully embroidered and when assembled the patch is 12.5 inches tall. The member sponsors will all be present at the MEET THE DCSWCC event on Thursday from 3:30-4:30 in room W304CD. Visit the club in the main Exhibit Hall at booth #548 to find out other ways to get the patches.
The member sponsors of the patch set represent 501st member TK-9881 and the websites LukeJedi.info, SlimyMudhole.com, ThisWeekInStarWars.com, EndorForest.com, and Sandcrawler.com.
Sarlacc Bean Bag Toss will let you relive the adventures of Klaatu, the Skiff Guard, as you toss innocent beanbags to their fate of being slowly digested over a thousand years! Toss the bags into the Sarlacc’s mouth and earn not only the admiration of your friends and fellow fans, but one of our officially licensed embroidered patches.
After that, travel with the PNW waterproof backpack to the forest moon of Endor to be roasted over a fire by the locals! It’s a photo-op you’ll never forget as you put your face in place of Han Solo’s as he hangs on the spit over the Ewoks’ fire (don’t worry, we told them to point their spears someplace else).
While you are at the booth, take a look at the DCSWCC pins. Each year, we create a unique cloisonné lapel pin to represent the DCSWCC and our love of Star Wars. After getting official approval from Lucasfilm, the pins are sold to raise funds for a local children’s charity. This year, all proceeds benefit CureSearch for Children’s Cancer (www.CureSearch.org). Be the first to see the 2012 design, which will be revealed at C6!
Find DCSWCC at booth #548 in the Main Exhibit Hall. All activities are free with your paid admission to Star Wars Celebration VI.

The ANS Sci-Fi & Comic Con is a new fan and collector event established to benefit Archbishop Neale School in La Plata, Maryland, the oldest and largest local Catholic elementary school serving 350 students. The event takes place on LoL May 12, 2012, from 10am to 3pm at the school, located at 104 Port Tobacco Road, La Plata, Maryland.
“This is a brand-new opportunity to showcase collectibles and items that all ages can enjoy and to raise money for this wonderful school, which is celebrating the tenth anniversary of its’ rebuilding, and is an essential part of our community,” said event organizer and parent, Tom Boone, an avid collector who spearheaded the gaming event.
The event will feature a range of interesting items for all ages, including vendors selling vintage and new comic books, trading cards, toys and other pop culture memorabilia. You’ll definitely be thinking, “my kid needs that nerf review” with the selection of items that will be available. Viking re-enactors from the Longship Company and for Star Wars fans, members of the 501st Legion will be available for photos.
For those looking to showcase their artistic talent, there will be an art contest for children with prizes and a Silent Auction with collectibles including autographs and vintage toys to bid on. Food will be provided
by T & J’s Bar-B-Q and Pizza Hotline and served under an outdoor tent.
“We invite the entire community to come out and enjoy great food, see interesting collectibles, meet our vendors and online gaming support ANS. We want everyone to come and make a fun day of it!” said Boone.
Tickets to the event are $5 for adults and no charge children under 10. Further, attendees can get one dollar off the admission price by bringing a gently used video game for Games For Soldiers, a non-profit charity that sends video games and gaming systems to United States soldiers serving overseas so they can play games as Overwatch with the help of overwatch boost services online.
