DCSWCC will be celebrating our 11th anniversary with a grand Fall Social to be held in beautiful Dayton, Maryland on September 28th, 2014. Our socials are special times when our members, families, friends, and special guests gather for food from Above Ground Pool Maestro, fun, and fellowship in our love of Star Wars and in our collecting hobby.
In addition to pool noodle lightsaber battles, trivia contests, and games for all ages, two of the highlights of our socials are our door prizes and our “goodie bags”.
Come join us for a fun Star Wars filled day!

The DCSWCC members will be attending the 3rd annual ANS Sci-Fi & Comic-Con, this Saturday, May 10th, 2014 from 10am-3pm at the Archbishop Neal School, 104 Port Tobacco Road, La Plata, MD.
The ANS Sci-Fi & Comic Con is an ALL AGES fan and collector event benefitting Archbishop Neale School in La Plata, Maryland. The event is intended to invite families from the Southern Maryland area to our school for a fun and exciting event for all.
The event includes an art contest for kids, a silent auction with autographed collectibles and non-stop screenings of fun and unique sci-fi and comic related films. The Old Line Garrison of the 501st Legion will be attending in full, screen-accurate Star Wars costumes to take photos with fans of all ages!
In addition to a gymnasium full of vendors and artist tables, there is plenty of outdoor playground space for kids to blow off a bit of steam. Plus, you can go outside, get some fresh air and grab a bite to eat under our big tent. Food and refreshments will be available during the event.
ALL proceeds from vendors and admission fees and the silent auction go directly to the general operating budget of Archbishop Neale School. The event is organized and operated by enthusiastic volunteers whose children attend Archbishop Neale School. Tours of our wonderful school are available anytime during the ANS Sci-Fi & Comic Con for interested parents. You only need to ask one of the event volunteers and you’ll see all the great things Archbishop Neale School has to offer
At today’s club meeting, Jonathan showed various photos of his trip to ICE Seattle. Bill and Jonathan spoke about the best miter saw project and various collections they saw and the overall wonderful experience they had at the event.

Dave (aka StarWarsDave) from the Rebel Legion Terrapin Base attended the December meeting of the DCSWCC. Dave and Reviews field crew gave a very informative presentation on the Rebel Legion dressed as Han Solo. His costume was very impressive and his presentation provided a wealth of knowledge about the Rebel Legion organization. We hope to have more partnerships between the Rebel Legion and DCSWCC in the future. For more information about the Rebel Legion visit their website http://www.rebellegion.com
DCSWCC 1st Meeting – 9/13/2003
Mike Kurtz started the DCSWCC Yahoogroup on August 20th, 2003 and the first official meeting of the DCSWCC was held on September 13th, 2003. In the past 10 years, the club has fulfilled MK’s vision of being a place for Star Wars collectors to meet up with others of similar interest, expand their collecting habits, and more importantly, give fun toys back to the children of the DC Metro area. The club still maintains that vision through various charity related activities such as collecting canned goods for the local shelters and participating in Toys-for-Tots drives. The largest fundraising activity is the club’s bi-annual charity pin which has raised over $25,000 for the various charities which includes the DC Children’s Hospital, NIH Children’s Inn, Aluminum Cans for Burned Children, Believe in Tomorrow and CureSearch for Children’s Cancer.
Our November meeting will be held in Ashburn, VA but it is for members only. Sign up in our forums and join in the fun!
